What's the difference?

This may sound silly, but I'm struggling with the whole bed situation. What's the difference between a bassinet, toddler bed, infant bed, and day bed? When will my baby need either of them?

this is a bassinet. you use it in your room for the first month or two depending on how big your baby is. they will outgrow it pretty quickly. i got mine as a baby shower gift but had no intention of buying one because my baby's crib is in my room. but if your baby's crib will be in another room, i would consider it.

an infant bed is a crib and they can use that from birth until they start to climb out of it. which for some babies is like 2. a toddler bed (which most cribs transition into with just a few peices) is just a bed with a side rail. like this: 
a day bed is for when they are a little older. probably like age 5 and up and it looks like this:
