Should I? What kind?

I'm 13 years old and my period is always off some how. I always find myself starting my period at the worst possible times, and it'd be helpful to know aproximatly when I'm going to start. I've considered taking birth control to help with that, but I'm not sure what kind to use. I've heard the shot is horrible and not much about the pills, any answers?

I was on ortho tri cyclen to regulate my cycle and it works wonderfully. I recommend it. It's pill form .

I took the pill in high school! It was easy to remember because I took it before school every morning. If your periods are irregular I think it'd be worth it to eliminate the stress of unpredictable cycles

If you have health insurance, call and ask what they cover. The arm implants are the easiest, because you don't have to remember to take a pill every day. Consult with your doc about the reasons you want to be on the birth control-- not sure that the implant helps regulate periods. I took the pill for years, and while it helped keep me from getting pregnant, and regulated my periods, I know there were risks involved. Remember: the implant, IUD's and pills will not prevent STD's.

I liked/loved the nuvaring it never fell out for me. Then there's the patch, IUD, shot, arm implant, pills, ring etc.
