Why do I get so many clots on my period?

Are you on any sort of birth Control? When I used to be on it and got my period, I had many clots in my period. Everytime it was my time of the month...I've been off my birth control for a while now, and not one period of mine had any clots. At all.

I had tooooons of clots. I ended up having polyps and had to have surgery. Was a simple surgery. Since then I have no clots!

Be tested for endometriosis. . I had that probably at a young age along with long painful periods. That's was the problem , 11 years later I found out.

It's just the lining of your uterus shedding. Some women clot more than others.

I get the same thing. I never had it till after my first kid though. My doctors said it could be birth control that the uterus is getting out of my system since I had stopped taking it. Also clots can be normal lining shedding... If it gets larger than a golf/ soft ball then call a doctor ASAP. Or if you bleed to where you are filling up a large tampon every hour for over 3-5 hours!
