17 too young for sex ?

I'm a virgin & I'm planning to lose my virginity to my boyfriend this Friday . I'm kind of nervous since it'll be my first time , but I trust him completely & I feel as though I'm ready . I'm not on any birth control but my boyfriend has condoms anyway . But I'm just curious , do you think 17 is too young to be having sex ? And what can I expect for my first time ?
