Tweaking faint HPTs

I see a lot of people with faint (positive) HPTs that tweak them with a different filter. I've done the same thing on one I had earlier this week. Still not sure if mine was an Evap line or not yet....might sound stupid, but will an Evap line also show up on the tweaked picture, or only of it is a true positive? Thanks ?
