Pregnancy test or wait?

Okay. I had sex about 5 weeks ago, my period was supposed be two weeks after this, but it came a week early and only lasted a day and a half. Now, I'm a week late for this period and I'm freaking out a little bit. Should I wait a few more days, or should I just take the pregnancy test to ease my mind?
