Taboo Tuesday's: Do the cons of birth control outweigh the pros?

It's all about the person's health history.  For me I don't like the idea of messing with my hormones so I'd rather let it play its course naturally.  Plus the side effects.  That's just me though

I went off my birth control for not even a year and it screwed me all up! I'd rather be on it. But my nuva ring seems to make me more moody

I have to take bc, for bleeding issues, hormonal imbalance, endemetriosis... so whatever cons there may be (which for me is just nausea) def pays off. I've never been so happy and relaxed in my life.

I personally have been told by my doctor not to use hormonal birth control, due to the fact that I have a high risk of contracting a reproductive cancer. However, for many, it provides extra protection, regulated periods, etc. Its net for everyone, buy for those who can and want to use it, I say go for it!

Yeahhh id love to be able to take pills or the damn shot but the cons.... i dont want to go through with that.

I think that, politically, BC has done amazing things for women, in terms of taking control of their own reproduction. From a health perspective, I've seen both sides of the coin: some have no trouble at all, some have nothing BUT trouble. I think that the industry will continue to improve over time, as we learn more about ourselves and how these products affect our bodies. Is BC the perfect, magic pill that works all the time without fail? No. But on the whole, I think it has done more good than harm. YMMV, of course.

I have a mood disorder though and bc only makes it worse so. That's why I don't use it.
