Depo shot?!

I'm going to get the depo shot tomorrow, any opinions on it or things I should know?

I was on it for about a year (and loved it!). I had no reactions or issues. BUT it is not intended for long term use-after some research I decided to discontinue...My Dr discussed with me long term use can increase chances of osteoporosis and bone density concerns.

I gained 50lb and had no sex drive... I wouldn't recommend it!

First it's not designed as a long term contraception. Its original purpose was to only delay your period for afew months. People have started using it constantly though and most people have had some very bad side effects from using it long term like weight gain, mood swings, genital cysts, constant bleeding, headaches, acne... And it can affect fertility for up to 2 years after it wears off even if you only get one injection.

I didn't like it. I felt nausea and had spotting for a month straight. But I react badly to most pills too, so I can't say it's something to expect.

I had it SUPER long term and loved it. It made me gain a lot of weight over the years but I felt healthier than ever in my life and no bleeding ever is amazing.
