My best friend and I had been planning my baby shower bc I am so far from family. I feel a little selfish with my mother trying to join in and having to put her in her place when she tried changing our plans completely and telling me I had no business in the planning. This is my first baby and my bf and I had planned this child so I would like to have a comfortable baby shower him and his friends and family can partake in. My mom wants to make it comfortable for her friends which I do not want to step back and see happen. Only one of her friends have really connected with me and I have to say they are all alcoholic pot smokers which is something my bf and I have always chosen to keep out of our lives. I'm not against allowing the boys have a drink at the baby shower bc I'd like to have a BBQ at the river or lake with fishing n fun times. I feel bad for putting my mom in her place I know she's excited but this isn't her baby shower and I don't want to b the designated driver for my own baby shower.. Rant over sorry
