Lip Discoloration from Birth Control Pills?!

Early November I woke up to extremely dry lips and then the next day I woke up with dark spots on my lips! It looks horrible and it hasn't faded! However, I was reading online for possible reasons for discoloration and they said hormonal imbalances and birth control could cause it. I've been on velivet since October. Has this ever happened to anyone ?! Should I contact my doctor ?!
