The point of the applicator is to get the "fake CM" as close to the cervix as possible therefor giving the sperm a boost. If you just apply preseed to the external body parts then there is no sure way of make sure you have enough CM to create the path way needed for the sperm

Preseed is mostly used for women who  dont produce enough CM on their own while other women who don't get "wet" during sex use it as a sperm safe lubricant. Use it based off your CM and how dry/wet you get during BDing.

We personally could only use 2 ml or less. Anymore was just toooo much and my hubby said it made him numb.

I use between 1g and 2g with the applicator and it's just the perfect ammount.. some people don't use the applicators but I find if I don't it's to close to the vaginal opening and seems to be too slippery.
