Does anyone know how long postpartum depression, anxiety, ocd can last?? I just read over a handful of articles my husband sent to me and I'm spot on for each symptom however daughter is almost 4?

Do any of you take zoloft?  I'm considering going on an anti anxiety medication and read about this one being safe during pregnancy. I'm not pregnant now but will be trying again in a few months.  I rather start a medication while not pregnant to see how it will affect me first.

kristi12 there are no antidepressants that I know of that have been effectively tested to prove that they are "safe" for pregnancy. There are classifications of medications during pregnancy to represent risk ABC and  D. There are very few medications at all that are considered an A. The very safest thing for a fetus is as little medication as possible. The benefits need to outweigh the risks and it's something you need to talk to your OB about they will advice you properly. I have taken Zoloft and always been advised to come off of it prior to becoming pregnant. It worked well for me for awhile but I did not like the side effects and it slowly became less effective since then I tried Effexor which also became much less effective even faster and now Wellbutrin which works very well for depression but I believe it has caused anxiety and difficulty sleeping. So I supplemented with Xanax the Wellbutrin has been extremely effective for depression so I manage the side effects.
