Boyfriend wants to break up over herpes

My long term boyfriend of 7+ months and I have been in a very close and loving relationship. He has always known I have herpes since before we started dating, but recently he has been obsessing over herpes and keeps saying how he doesn't want to get herpes and even if we use protection every time I feel one coming on and are safe he doesn't want that tiny chance. Please give me feedback, what do I do? :(
