No epidural!

Hi ladies!! I'm a first time mom and I've been working on my birth plan. I don't want any pain medications and when I spoke to my husband about it he looked at me like I was insane. He told me I could do what I wanted but that he thought the whole notion was bizarre. Have any of you given birth with no epidural? With an epidural? Do you think I'm crazy for not wanting one?
