What does a miscarriage feel like?

Do you just get your period? What does it feel like (physically). What happens when you go get medical assistance? I've never had one and am just curious.

Bad cramps, heavy period. Super emotional. Only knew I was pregnant for a week before getting an ultrasound that showed I was miscarring. I had irregular periods so I didn't know until week 7.

It depends on how far along you are. I had one at about 7 weeks and I had a lot of cramping and it was like a very heavy period. I passed a cell sack, which as the embryo. It was painful but not unmanageable.

It depends how far along. The farther along your pregnancy is the more painful i feel because your basically giving birth to the baby. It feels like really really bad cramps atleast for me. Back pains.. that wont let you walk. And once youve passed the baby and sack it goes down. But the worst pain is walking out of the hospital empty handed.

I had one at 11wk. I spotted for 5 days and towards the 4th 5th day i was bleeding more but never filled up a pad... i had  what felt like normal period cramps.....but then the 5th day i had bad cramps and waves of pain every 4 minutes were i literally had to breath my way thru the pain... 2 hours of that...eventually went to the er got some morphine and barely took the edge off.... i passed everything about an  1hr  at the hospital and was discharged 2 hrs later.

For me it felt like a cross between a really painful period and labor contractions. Once I passed the embryonic sac the pain stopped.

I had extreme cramping and there was a lot of bleeding. The cramps were like contractions that would come every couple minutes and take my breath away. The doctors can't do anything. They did a blood test and ultrasound to confirm the miscarriage, but once it was confirmed, they sent me on my way home and told me to take pain meds and rest and use a heat pack.

I was only 4 weeks, I had severe back pain the first day (my uterus is tilted back), then mild-severe cramping the next day, felt very weak and tired the whole time, day 3 started bleeding heavy (I think it was delayed due to progesterone supplement) and had a mild fever, vomited once....after that I started slowly feeling better each day

its exhausting. physically, emotionally, and mentally. physically for me it felt like a really bad period. its something i wouldnt wish on my worst enemy.

Yup I miscarriaged at 8 weeks! To me it felt like. Very bad period. I cramped and slept a lot. I passed naturally too. It's very emotional too!
