Testing too early
I just want to share this little story. My partner and I have been TTC #2 for a few months. I'm still breastfeeding our 16 month old, so we figured it could take a while.
Period was due Friday or Saturday. I tested Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday with First Response (tues) and then EPT (wed/thurs). All came back negative. Very very negative.
I started to have normal (for me-- breasts bigger, hungry, tired) PMS symptoms and worked really hard to be okay with not being pregnant this cycle.
This morning (Sunday) rolled around, and still no period. I had cramping and still felt like I'd start my period. I decided to test one last time just to be completely sure before I started to take emmenagogues (herbs that can help to start menstruation).
Lo and behold, a First Response digital revealed a BFP.
With #1, we knew 5 days (!!) before my period was due. I didn't think there was any possible way we were pregnant this time around.
I know tests say they work early, and sometimes you get faint lines. I also know how hard it is to wait things out. That said, don't give up hope if early tests are negative.
