BC and rash

I was on ortho for a year and other than a fierce appetite and gaining some weight I didn't have any problems. I wanted to lose weight so I stopped taking it and lost 25 pounds the first month, no dieting. (Happy dance) But a year later I started taking sprintic and withing 2 months developed a rash, and continued taking sprintic for 4 months. The rash would clear up on the white pills but come right back. Ortho and sprintic have the same active ingredients. I was wondering if anyone else has experienced a rash on birth control and what other ones I should try. Thanks :)
