Can teachers have visible tattoos?

Many of my current teachers at my high school have visible tattoos. I've done projects about the tattoo industry and one of my teachers got so excited: he started showing us his and telling us stories about them. But then I have another teacher that wears long sleeves to cover up his. So, I guess it depends on your personal preference and of course the school's rules.

I'm a Principal, and I have several teachers on staff with visible tattoos. (I have a few myself, too.) But I also work in San Francisco. I think it really depends upon where you live and what type of school you work at. When I lived in the Midwest, another teacher called me out on a tattoo like it was a huge deal.  ou may even risk not getting hired somewhere (Catholic school!) with one. It's a personal decision, but I wouldn't be naive about who might judge you. Maybe get established solidly in the field before you do something that might jeopardize your career...

Two of my dance teachers had lots of visible tattoos. Just ask the place in which you want to work at!

About all my teachers have tattoos. I think you fine! One of the teachers in my school is covered in them! 

I had teachers with tattoo's.. There's also always private schools who can make and break their own rules. I have this on my hand and I'm going into the medical field. I say if you want it, get it!

One of my teachers has visible tattoos so I would say yes. However, I imagine it would be different everywhere. 

I am also a school admin and many of our teachers have tattoos. It just isn't a big deal to us.  You should try to get in contact with the local teacher's unions to see if they have any idea what the local climate is like. 

I went to Catholic school and none of my teachers had visible tattoos If you really want it can you not have it done somewhere that it can be covered up and won't hurt your career? I have 2 tattoos and can cover them up at work
