Why did i throw up off cough drops and hot tea?

I have sinuses and i drunk some hot tea and ate some cough drops to help my sore throat. Some minutes later i threw up. Why is this?

It could be all the mucus. It's happened to me before. Just slow it down. Take sips of your tea over time. If you have anything to take that can thin the mucus (DayQuil sinus relief, ect) that could help. And don't lay flat. Prop yourself up with pillows to help the mucus drain. 
I get chronic sinus infections, so I know the drill. It also helps to have a hot shower. Let the water hit your chest and breath in the steam.
