What does this mean??

I was 12 when I first got my period and I have been wondering about this since then. When I first got my period I was like well, fuck. But after that I didnt have my period for 5 months. Last year my period skipped for 2 or 3 months. Is this regular? Im 15 now. (Still a virgin) Just wondering about it.

It can take years for your hormones to regulate so as a young adult, periods can be very irregular.

I got my period for the first time at age 11, am now almost 40, and it has *always* been irregular. This year I went 5 months without a period, but other months I have a heavy period or just spotting. It sucks. Being on the pill regulates your period if you want to do that.

If you are athletic it can also cause it to be irregular.

Most women don't have a regular period until years after they first get it. I first got mine at 14 and only got it every 3 months or so until I was 18. It was completely irregular. Now at 23 it's every 32 days and lasts for 5 days every time. I've never been on the pill either. I wouldn't worry about it but if it bothers you talk about it with your doctor next physical

I was very very irregular when I was your age as well. What I did to regulate was to get on the pill which solved the problems that I had but every period and person is different I would speak to your mom and have her take you to your primary care doctor for more insight
