Can my ex-fiance be held legally responsible for giving me an STD due to cheating?

I posted about a week ago that my fiance broke things off. I am lost.

It turns out he cheated, too. He's been with another woman (and me) since at least November. I am going to be tested for everything next week. I am disgusted.

I do not mean to sound dumb, but since we were in a committed relationship (engaged and a planned wedding), can he be held responsible for giving me an STD through her? Prior to her, we both had completely clean bloodwork and it is on record.

I apologize if this sounds naive. I really just want to throw up. What if I have HIV?

. As far as charging him with anything unless he had prior knowledge of having the std and tried to give it to you on purpose. For example there was actually a case where a woman had AIDS and to "get back at asshole men" she would have sex with them just to give them AIDS. Those me. Filed a class action lawsuit and won. So basically you woukd have to prove that he had the std and knew abiut it, then prove that he with hekd that infirmation from you, and then prove that he had "malicious intent" towards you which is basically impossible. That's the only way to charge him with "harm" but there really isn't any way to prove that in your case and from what it sounds like he just was a butt hole and cheated with a dirty woman and unfortunately may have passed somethig to you. I'm really sorry and I hope that everything goes well for you.

No legal advice here, but I just wanted to say that your ex is a complete douche bag, and I feel so bad for you.

Years and years ago I also broke off an engagement because I found out he had cheated on me for a year prior while he was in his MBA program and I was doing my Masters in another state. That break-up was hell to get over -- one of the hardest and most  embarrassing times of my life. A year after that, I met my now-husband.

You are literally going through a grieving process right now. My best wishes to you. And, remember, everything is calorie-free during a breakup.

Agreed with others about the STDs (he has to knowingly give it to you), but I hope you're keeping the ring and everything the two of you accumulated in the relationship. Pawn it all and take yourself on a vacation or shopping spree. Cheaters are the worst!!!

Which std is it that's the question?  IS it treatable or not . You must get tested not assume on your own . If you feel it's that serious . The doctor's office should have been immediately  . You not knowing the severity of what your up against.
