Thyroid exam?

I had to get blood drawn to check my thyroid levels. Can someone tell me what this is for? My doctor didn't explain it very well.

Pregnancy can effect your hormone levels, including your thyroid hormones, which, if out of whack can negatively affect all kinds of stuff, including mood swings, metabolism (weight gain manageability) and fertility. Miscarriages can happen if your thyroid is wonky. I have hypothyroidism, so I have to get mine checked regularly in my pregnancy as well. Usually, low thyroid just has annoying side  effects, like being tired and bitchy more often than not, bur when pregnant, it can cause Baybay problems as well. ?

I got a full thyroidectomy. I was told with ur thyroid it controls ur hormones.

had my thyroid removed which saved my life. you will be fine just keep an eye on it and take meds if needed x
