Not changing your tampon enough can cause Toxic Shock Syndrome which can make you very sick and you can even die from it. An irritated vagina can be your first warning that you should change it more often. Bacteria can even form on a pad doing the same thing.

I would hardly have mine in a couple hours and I'd absorb so much it'd dry me out. Hated that. Switched to Diva Cup & that's probably one of the best parts for me. No irritation & it can be in for 12 hours. Boom.

Change them every few hours, depending on how heavy AF is. First or second day I would every 3-4 hours. My third day is light so I can go like 6 hours without having to change.
