Getting all up in your business

Ok, this is going to be a bit TMI.  In my opinion, I feel my period is very odd.  My periods on average start every 29 days...normal.  What's odd is that I will have med-heavy flow for about 2 days then stop for a day, sometimes 2.  Then have med flow for about a day, than stop.  Then it starts again and stops.  Each time it stops I usually have that brownish old blood discharge.  When I stop that 3 time the brownish discharge lasts a few days (very annoying).  In all I find I have to wear a pad for a week and half, and mostly because of that old blood.  I was told I have a tilted uterus...maybe it's getting more tilted with age as I don't remember having to deal with so much old blood in my 20s (or earlier). Maybe it's why I can't seem to conceive!?!?  Does this seem normal, or anyone else with similar periods?
