Periods and grieving?

Hi! I am currently grieving the loss of my grandfather who was more like a father to me and.I was wondering.if anyone else who has been grieving durring a.period.experienced extended periods or a lot more acne, sleeplessness, loss of appitite? I know that sleeplessness and loss of appetites are paet of.greif but.before this week + 2 days I had a fine appetite and was sleeping fine.

My grandfather passed away on the day I was expected to start (Christmas Eve) and I have yet to start. No unprotected sex so I'm guessing stress

I'm sorry for your loss. As for grieving affecting your period it wouldn't surprise me at all. Any sort of stressful emotions causes my period to change in some way whether it's the length, my cycle, my cramps, the type of flow, my acne, my appetite etc. it doesn't even have to be anything extremely stressful, just anything that I'm anxious about in any way. I also feel as though the symptoms I might have already been experiencing due to whatever stress I'm under are sometimes worsened during my period. Having my period play up used to stress me out even more until I noticed the pattern so now I can quite easily predict when my period is going to be slightly different for me. Grief is one of the most intense emotional and physical states a person can be in so your body is not under normal conditions and any change in your period, even the small ones, is probably a direct result of that.
