Military gfs/wives

My boyfriend and I have been dating for 5 years. He is in the Air Force. In May he will be deploying to Afghanistan.. My emotions are a mess. This is his first deployment. I'm scared I don't know what I'm going to do without him being here. For anybody who has had a loved one deploy recently or before, how do you deal with it? I've never been in a situation like this before. My biggest fear is something will happen to him. I try not to think of negative things but I just can't help it. Help please. Any advice I'll take at this moment. Thank you in advance ☺
