When to tell!!!

So I'm about 5 weeks now and so excited , never had any problems and no history of mc. I'm really wanting to tell people is it to early??? Don't have first ob appt until 2-12-15 and that's a long wait . Need some advice.

I just found out I'm pregnant as well and have my first ob appt on Friday!! We told my mom/dad brother/gf his family and one set of grandparents on each side. He told his 3 best friends and I told my 3. If anything happens we can count on them for support, we are waiting until 12 weeks to tell everyone else!

People say to wait until 12 weeks, but I would never want to go through a miscarriage alone - I think it depends how comfortable you are sharing what some people view as private, especially if something goes wrong.

I personally told everyone as soon as I was sure!

Same for me. We told my parents, husbands parents, our two closest friends and my sister and brother. We want a support team just in case!

There are no "rules" on when you should tell anyone! The main reason people wait to tell is because the first 12 weeks are the most risky, but doesn't mean you can tell anyone before then. Totally a personal preference!

It's all personal preference and there is no right or wrong way to do it.

For me, I chose to tell my best friend and one cousin I am super close to when I found out, and chose to wait until 12 weeks to tell our families. Part of waiting so long for us is because I knew that our families would not be able to keep quiet, and I didn't want to risk it getting out too early. So we told our families when we were ok with the whole world finding out, which for us was a good idea because I think my MIL called the president that night (ok maybe not, but she might as well have).  I knew that if something went wrong I could count on my cousin and friend for support, and my cousin was there to answer those first time pregnancy questions (are my boobs ever going to stop growing? (No not until after baby is born and milk comes in)).

Now I am 5 weeks and 4 days pregnant and me and my husband agreed that we would tell our close family at 9 weeks and others at 12 weeks.

When i got pregnant i found out at 4 weeks and told my family and husbands family. At 6 weeks 2 days i miscarried and it was so awkward telling people because they were getting upset for us. 
This time around i found out at 3 weeks, and only told my mom. Then we told the rest of the family at 8 weeks. Im now 15+1. So i think its whenever you want to tell. Its nice to have support, but if you are not close to certain family then dont tell them. I wish we hadnt told my hubbys family because we arent close.
