For people who say no, why not? It's not like you have to squeeze the baby out of the dolls twat or anything lol!! Pregnancy is nothing to be ashamed of and I think the Barbie would be a great way to explain things to younger kids. I wish I had one for my girl since I'm finally telling her tomorrow that I'm pregnant, (18 weeks) it would be fun to show her the doll too!

I had one as a kid. It was a barbie with an attachable belly and little baby. Just a little family. I don't see the problem. What's so different between that and her having a baby doll that's "her baby".

If my daughter saw it and asked for it then I'd buy it. Things become issues when we as parents make them issues!

Of course. When I was little I was very annoyed about how they made the babies come out. The back would pop open to take the babies out. They also had clothes. I would get mad every time and explain to my friends that the baby came out of your vagina. Everyone was very insistent that the baby came out your butt. I think that would be resolved by making it have correct anatomy. If she has a belly she should be able to have her baby come out her vagina. And their should also be a caesarean barbie. I think these things should be known by kids. I would have no problem with my kid having one as long as the back doesn't have to be popped out to get the babies. It was also argued with me that Caesareans were when the back was cut open.

Maybe this bothers some people, because they don't want their daughters to "aspire" to be pregnant at a young age. These dolls usually wear junior fashions and seem young. That's just my guess. Then again, it's not like I want my daughter to "aspire" to be like Barbie, either. Why can't they make a "going to med school," "CEO of a non-profit organization," or "resourceful, stay-at-home mom" doll w/ average womanly dimensions? I'd be all over those!

I would totally get one for my kids! I don't know what's wrong with it. This isn't 1910. Pregnancy should be celebrated and talked about, not something that should be hidden or shameful.

I don't see anything wrong with it. I don't plan to hide the truth from my daughter. She's 4 years old and she'll tell me "when I was a baby I was in your belly and the doctor cut you and took me out." I always tell her stories of the day she was born so this doll isn't doing anything negatively towards her.
