Common law marriage in Ks?

My So and I have been together for 1 1/2 yrs now and was wondering if common law marriage was a thing.

I've never really understood the common law thing. To me you're married or not... seems like a lot of women try to trap men that way lol or my SO'S ex tried to do that anyway and even in CO it would've stood but she is nuts.

Google. All states are different CO you file taxes together, or considerably sign a lease together for a year. Your married! Things have to be taken up in civil court like divorce. (If seperation is not civil, obviously)

My sister and he first "husband" we together for 10 years.. They never actually married but filed taxes together.. got loans together.. And have a son together.. They ended up having to get a divorce when they separated even though they never actually married

Common law in Texas doesn't have anything to do with years- its if both parties present themselves as married; meaning they sign the same last names, apply for loans or property as a joint entity, cover each other on insurance- things like that. It has the same standing as a ceremonial marriage and is the same in court for divorce proceedings
