What do people think about naming boy after there father?

My husband and me have been considering name out baby after him if it is a boy.

I work in the financial field and I do not recommend giving your child the same name as it can cause a lot of problems with credit, fraud, and identity mix ups. If you do give him the same name try to spell it differently or have the name vary a bit

My husbands name is Harry and if we ever have a boy we are naming him Harrison. :) I love it!!

I want to name my son Andrew. One because it's my older brothers name but it is also my boyfriends name. A lot of people are saying it will get confusing and I don't doubt that but I just really like the name Andrew.

My boyfriend had a son prior to our relationship that lives with us. His ex wouldn't let him have the same name. Now that we are pregnant I would love to give him that opportunity but I feel like since it's not first born that is very disrespectful to his first child. Might not have a problem with it now being so young but once he's older and understands I feel like he would be very upset.

I'm not totally against, but personally, I want my son to feel like his own person. My husband feels the same way. I don't want my son to feel like he's living in the shadows of his dad or to be confused with his dad. However! I do like the idea sharing the same middle name or giving the baby his dad's first name as a middle name. He can still carry on the legacy of his father's name, but still have a name to call his own.

I dont recommend it. My dad and my brother are both called Michael. Gets terribly confusing and annoying at the house. And also my brother has been branded 'little mike' by the family to differentiate. (Which sounds silly even more now that hes 23, 6 ft 3, and a body builder..)

I work in a pharmacy and there are all kinds of mix ups with using the same names cause people don't always give you correct birth dates or ins billing issues. I don't recommend it but don't let people talk you out of it if you want to name your child after his father.
