Anyone on here have an incurable STD? (IM OPEN-MINDED)
Now, what I mean by "incurable" is Herpes, HPV, etc. Now, for herpes I know that 1 in 5 Americans have HSV. 1 in 4 in bigger cities. Its easier for men to give the virus to women, rather than women giving it to men (but it does happen, that's how I got it).
I'm currently living with the Herpes Simplex Virus (Genital). I haven't had to change my diet, but I have had to watch my sex life. Using condoms help prevent it by only 50%. While it is hard to cope with knowing you have the disease, you can maintain a healthy and fun lifestyle. I've been in a relationship for almost 2 years on May 11. My fiancé knows about my disease and he is more than supportive of me and he knows the risks of contracting the disease.
I've been diagnosed since May 2013. I have taken medication to soothe my outbreaks (but it doesn't go away, EVER).
It also can lay dormant for MANY years, and then, out of the blue, it appears. And then you get those unwanted questions, "how did I get this?" And "Did you cheat on me?", etc.
If you girls need someone to talk to I'm here. I'm an open book. I know what it feels like to feel as if you are "damaged goods" but that you are the FARTHEST thing from it. And to tell that there are guys who will except you for it and love you anyways (I'm living proof).
Feel free to comment on here. I'm not sure how many will read this, and that's fine. :) I may be looked at differently for posting this, but that's ok. I'm not afraid of this, and I will conquer this.
Ladies, you are not alone in this journey if you contract it. I promise. I'll be here to talk to.
