Internal Cervical Bleed

Jennifer
I don't care how common they say bleeding is while pregnant, when you experience it....it is terrifying to say the least.
After weeks of spotting and a few previous bleeds, I had a major bleed last night and was devastated.  I called the on call doc and cried myself to sleep knowing I had lost my baby. He had me come in first thing this morning.
He examined me first, cervix closed with trickle of blood coming from opening.  Ultrasound showed healthy 7 wk baby with heartbeat of 158!  No bleeding in uterus and baby is high in fundus.  He moved to cervix and it looked normal until they turned the "blood flow" on.  Immediately, we could see a bleed in the internal portion of the cervix-a ruptured vessel/capillary that isn't clotting.  It in no way is affecting my pregnancy!  I am so relieved-especially after crappy treatment I got from new doc to clinic two days ago!  If it doesn't stop with 48 hours, they will pack the area around my cervix to put pressure on the bleed.  They are having me double up on Miralax and Colace to prevent any straining...and no lifting.
Just wanted to share in case anyone else is having similar symptoms....you know your body best!  Make your doctor listen!!!
