How soon to share the news?!

I'm 8w with my first. Obviously elated but hesitant to share the news openly. Don't have a doc appt until 11w. Should I wait until then?

We have miscarried before and just announced at eight weeks. I believe that every baby is a gift from God and it's life should be celebrated. I'm not letting the past influence my happiness. Taking this pregnancy one day at a time and enjoying every minute of it.

We are waiting until 14 weeks. My sister lives in Japan and will be visiting so we want to surprise her in person

I told immediate family right away (I found out at 5 weeks) I told everyone else this week (11 weeks).  Sooner than I planned but a lot of people at work speculated so I just figured I'd tell them. I was planning to at 12 weeks anyway.  If something were to happen at this point I would likely want the support system anyway.

We told immediate family at 5 weeks on Christmas Day, told work last week when I had a scare at 7-8 weeks and waiting until I've had my 12 week scan to tell friends and wider family xx

I say wait until 12 weeks. I'm sure everything will be just fine but I had a mc at 6 weeks and had told a few close family members. As much as it was great to have my mom and sister there to get me through it, I could have gone without my brothers or a few others knowing. It made them feel awful and they felt like they needed to console me when all I wanted to do was be with my husband and cry. Just my two cents, again I'm sure everything will be fine!!!

I made the announcement at 4 weeks, but I was just too excited to hold it in once I found out. Now, tomorrow makes 11 weeks.

I shared at 8weeks after my first ultrasound. Pretty much everyone knew like family and coworkers. But it's so exciting you wanna talk about it so share! If something happens good or bad then you have the support to get through it

Yes! That way you will have a nice picture! We are wIting until 14 weeks but we've lost before so are very very cautious
