Is it offensive to you when your SO talks about celebrities?

I know I shouldn't be bothered by it. It's so insignificant like he will never really meet them and I KNOW that but it still kinda hurts my feelings just because I don't look like them. Is it just me?

If my husband was like ooh she's hot I would be like yeah she's cute but if he was over the top with it and saying more than I need to hear I would be pissed

My hubby knows not to open his mouth! But when he does I'm not happy. It really gets to me, it's frustrating and then makes me feel like o have to try better and look like them! Yes I do get offended. Its probably stupid the way I react to it but I don't know. ..

My SO is always talking about Misty Day, the character from American Horror Story: Coven. I tease him about it, she's just a celebrity crush, we've all had them I'm sure.

My bf talks about other girls boobs & especially hooters!!! It hurts my feelings cuz I feel like I need to have big boobs & look like who he talks about. But I love the way I look but it still bothers me when he talks about them.

I think that directly correlates to your personal self esteem and your comfortability and trust within your relationship. My husband and I definitely have our celeb crushes and likes and openly discuss it. It doesn't bother me in the least and honestly if he ever got the chance with Mila Kunis I might even get mad if he didn't go through with it lol but I'm secure in myself, my relationship and my trust with him. I know beyond a shadow of a doubt he would not cheat on me so it doesn't bother me.

Yes and no at the same time. My husband thinks Taylor Swift is pretty, and I'm like why.. shes the total opposite of me. I'm short, chubby, and have dark, almost black, hair. But at the same time, he's never going to meet her or any of his other celebrity crushes. So as long as hes crushing on basically a fantasy person and not some regular everyday woman I'm fine with that.

Lol I know who my husband finds attractive an he knows who I find attractive. It's not a big deal to us. I'm bisexual an find most the celebrities he finds attractive attractive as well. He told me I'm not aloud to see Carrie underwood in concert cause I'm in love with her lol. Idk i don't think it's a big deal

I appreciate honesty. My husband and I talk about celebrities and even people in "real life" that we find attractive. Because we're best friends and trust each other, it doesn't result in jealousy. In fact, it can be fun.
 
Of course, I would say there is a difference between blatant objectification and simply expressing attraction. If he's rudely wording his interest, I could understand why that would be irritating.

Ultimately, I think BOTH people being open about crushes and lusty feelings can actually help the relationship instead of hindering it. But that requires being secure in yourself and your relationship. If you're not there yet, that is okay too. Telling him it bothers you is the first step in growing to that point.
