How much did giving birth hurt?

Im just wondering because im taking a child development class and were in the birthing unit and im curious on others opinions

I had my daughter naturally (only because it was too late for an epidural!), and I remember thinking at the time that it was the worst pain in the world. But now, I can't really remember what it felt like. I've heard there are hormones released during labor to kind of make you black out or forget the process. Not sure if that's true, but that's how it felt to me!

Mine hurt like a mofo, but I had an episiotomy that went through my *sshole and forcep assistance due to his size. It was enough to stop me from wanting more babies, for 13yrs...the second baby hurt even more. She was an emergency c-section and the epidural had worn off so I felt that surgery...bawled the entire time. Once she was out and the cord was cut they put me under (they couldnt before due to her heart rate bottoming out). Im dreading #3 lol but I want more kids so I'll deal with it as it comes.

Well, if you end up with meds to induce labor like pitocin that can cause labor to be way more painful than it should be. I had both my kids with out pain meds, but I was induced so my contractions were pretty painful.  They are like really bad period cramps. ..like the worse possible haha. And pushing can hurt a but too.  But once that baby is out, you pretty much forget all about the pain.

I had my son naturally, no pain meds at all until afterwards they gave me ibuprofen. I would say it hurt quite a bit, but it was so worth it seeing, hearig, and holding him for the first time. I would do it all again just for that moment.

I haven't had a baby myself,  but Ive heard at a certain point in labor (I guess as the babys head is coming out) it feels like a ring of fire around the vagina.

It was just uncomfortable to me up until I had the epi; which I got because I was induced at te last second (planning medicine free this time!). But I couldn't tell I was having contractions; I was just so dang uncomfortable.

Well the only pain I felt was the contractions and they were HORRIBLE so as soon as I got to the hospital I got epidural didn't feel a thing after that

I've been told that it's like having period pains like cramps and backache, but like 100x that.

Terribly painful, but the pain seems to dull as soon as baby is on your chest. Mother Nature is a wonderful thing, those hormones kick in. Otherwise none of us would ever do it again.
