Abdominal Ultrasound?

I had my first ultrasound yesterday (8w2d). They did a transvaginal us, which was fine, but when I asked about an abdominal us she said you wouldn't be able to see anything at this point because it is still too low (under the pubic bone). Has anyone had their 8 week ultrasound abdominally?  Could you see everything (yolk sac, fetal pole, heart)?

I had an abdominal at 8w1d and it was totally fine. Only obstruction was that my bladder was too full so I had to go pee (thank goodness!)

I had one at 7 weeks 4 days and we couldn't see anything.. It freaked me out but then the doctor said it was still early to see anything on the abdominal ultrasound. I go back when I'm 11 weeks 5 days and they will do another one then and schedule a trams signal ultrasound.

Technically a pelvic ultrasound includes a transabdominal portion and a transvaginal portion. At 8 weeks or so, the transabdominal portion is less about looking at baby and more about assessing your uterus, bladder and cervix. A thorough scan included both portions.

I had an abdominal with my first at 6wk3d and you could see everything fine. Each women is different though.

I had transvaginal at 5w6d and saw yolk sac and gestational sac. Had an abdominal at 6w5d (1 week later) and saw our little baby with a heartbeat. The ultrasound tech warned me that it may be too early and we had to try for a minute.

If it's your first it might be hard to see. I had to have vaginal ones for my first child, but with my second I drank a heap of water to push the uterus to the front and was able to get an abdominal scam done at 8 weeks so it can be done :-) hoping to have an abdominal one for my dating scan for this pregnancy too. But if it has to be vaginal then so be it :)

Im 8w3d and had a abdoninal Sono amd saw the baby:)

I had one at 7. I could see baby, but was no where near as clear as transvaginal.

I'm getting one done at 9 week and they are doing both.
