First baby appointment/pregnancy
My husband and I conceived on/around January 5th. I know this because I peed on a stick that told me I was ovulating, then we did the BD. I got a faint positive result on 1-16, then 7 more not so faint positive results on the days following, so I called to make my first official apt. The receptionist made an apt for me 1-29 and told me I would be "8 weeks" along by then based on the day of my last period (dec 3rd). I tried to explain to her that my cycles were longer than most women and I will really only be 5w6d along at this point, but she scheduled me for that day anyway. My question is, what happens the first visit and how will this affect my appointment? I'm sure they are looking for hgc levels to be at a certain point at the 8 week mark, which I am not. Do they do an ultrasound or check for heartbeat? I don't want to be worried unnecessarily when they can't find a heartbeat or think my hgc levels are low for "8 weeks". This is my first pregnancy, just wondering how this all works. Thanks!
