Did you have a natural labor/birth in a hospital?

I didn't (I plan to) but my sister did. It was hard because many of the nurses would come in and discourage her from time to time. Her doctor wasn't really on board either but she got through the whole thing and my niece was (and is) perfect!

I recommend having someone who can speak up for you. My mom and I were there in the room with her and if it wasn't for my mom they probably would have coerced her into an epidural.

Get a midwife and a doula. My doula is going to help me birth at home and then we will go to the hospital just before birth. I want to take my time while the baby is crowning so that I don't push too soon and tear. Read I a mays labor book.

I had two and hope this will be the third. With my first I had a partial placental abruption and had to labor in bed the entire time, but I was able to do it without medication and how I wanted. My second was a much quicker experience and I had my baby 11 minutes after we got to the hospital. It's possible. I am using a certified nurse midwife and plan on this one being born naturally as well. I plan on using the tub for pain management if I have enough time.

I just did and I have to say my hospital and doctors/nurses were so wonderful. I was coming from a place of fear and had no reason for it. I had some preconceived ideas about how bad hospitals were and they were wrong! I let other people and the Internet scare me into thinking I couldn't have a natural birth in the hospital. I thought I knew what was going to be best, but I trusted my team of doctors and nurses because they are the professionals. It most certainly can be done.

Yes. It was a good experience I would say. I was allowed to walk and the nurses offered me alternatives. 1. Was a little pain shot she would put in my back 2. Was a shot to let me sleep in between contractions. I took the 2nd one. Once a doctor from my obgyn office came that's when it got messy. She said wow natural labor she's really young ask if she wants the epidural. 5 nurses came into my room right after another asking if I want epidural. I said no politely and then by the last one I said I DONT WANT THE F-ING EPIDURAL, HOW MANY TIMES DO I HAVE TO TELL YOU IM DOING THIS NATURALLY! After that I wasn't bothered and I pushed out a healthy boy.

I went natural, except for the whole bring induced part. It was all fine and dandy until the doctor broke my water. I was 4cm for two weeks before being induced, so labor want that long (6 hours and 35 minutes). The worst part was after they broke my water and feeling the contractions coming hard and fast. Then the pushing. It was frustrating and painful for me. I pushed for just over an hour. And my husband was there for every minute at my side. He did fantastic.  TMI. I had a 2nd degree tear, a tear in the inside of my vagina, and a small tear in my urethra. It took me 4 days after I got home to finally accept pain meds, and I'm still in pain and can barely walk. Soaking in the bath helps, just wish the pain would go away.

With my first I had almost no control over my birth. I was severely preeclamptic and had to be induced for both of our safety. Had to lay on my left side, couldn't get up, on an IV with a high dose of magnesium, had to have a catheter, doctor broke my water, high doses of Pitocin to hurry up the process, and I had to have an epidural because the pain was causing my blood pressure to get too high (it was either that or csection). The only thing I had a choice in was if I wanted to push or let the baby contract down. I chose to push because it took a lot of pressure off my left side that was hurting really badly. I pushed for two and a half hours. It's not how I imagined my sons birth at all, but honestly in the end it didn't matter.

I went natural with my 3rd child my son. It wasnt bad until i was fully dilated. The contractions were horrible and i felt like i was pushing forever
