Tanning while Prego ?? Thoughts?

Hello everyone... I'm meeting with my midwife tomorrow so hopefully get a better answer but has anyone tanned during pregnany?? I've heard it's safe as long as a fan is on or your not in a tan bed that long.. I just want to be safe for baby.. But also... I feel so much better about myself when I have a little color and I'm not so white! Help. Please.

Heck no! 1000 times no! Not safe when you aren't pregnant either honestly. I understand the color though, I found a girl that does airbrush spray tan with 100% natural and organic ingredients. Look into that! I love being tan too, but girl, it is not worth it.

Are you seriously considering going on a sunbed whilst you are pregnant? There are so many dangers with sunbeds - skin damage, skin cancer and that's when your not pregnant why would you risk your health just for a bit of colour?? It's not just you anymore - the way you look should definitely come after yours and babies health!!

Bad idea. Women cannot be in very warm places that are confines. Hot tubs and tanning are bad ideas. Besides its so dangerous anyway

Whoa, no. Tanning beds are dangerous not pregnant and especially pregnant. It can head up your stomach area and that won't be good. Are they suggesting it for low d or pleasure? Honestly, I would skip it if at all possible.

You probably can't find anything saying that it's any worse than doing it when you're not pregnant. That being said, I would encourage you to stop tanning! I used to do it religiously and regret every minute of it. The risk is just not worth the reward...and it gives you wrinkles:)

I've done a bunch of research on this per American pregnancy website they site that there is no evidence that tanning beds can harm the baby. It can be harmful to the mother due to overheating if the bed doesn't have sufficient fans. As long as you don't feel over heated you are fine. I also consulted my doctor, she said tanning was fine & would not harm the baby.

I'm going to be honest here- I tanned with my second- on a 3 minute stand up machine. I did not overheat at all, but I have since grown up and realised it's not worth it. I love to be tanned. I use tanning spray/mousse now and it looks great on a pregnant tummy. Just be careful closer to birth time as you want your breasts/nipples free of any kind of chemicals, even 'organic' brands. It makes you feel just as good- takes a little maintaining but at least you know your not damaging your skin ... Or baby. Also- stretch marks don't tan in the sun because of the torn skin fibres- but tanning lotion/spray can cover them up the best making them less noticeable. Find a brand that suits- there will be one out there!!! 😊🌞

Absolutely not! It's not good for you there's no way it's good for your baby. I would risk it no matter what
