Strange discharge

So my husband and I are planning to try to conceive our 2nd child within the next couple months. Though we haven't started trying, we haven't exactly been "careful". I'm 3 days away from my period and I just had a very strange discharge I've NEVER had before. It was whitish with streaks of pink. Could this be my period starting or could this be an early sign of pregnancy?
