Passed tissue while on progesterone suppositories!!

My AF is 8 days late. BFN in both blood and urine tests. Started progesterone suppositories last cycle since 3dpo. Will progesterone stop period? Passed tissue and spotting for two days around AF was due. Anybody had like this before??
