Can you be pregnant and still have a period?

When my mom was pregnant with my brother she said she had a normal period for 5 months after she was pregnant. She didn't find out she was pregnant until her mom basically told her she was at 6 months haha

U can be pregnant and bleed but its not a period, its decidual bleeding.

I don't have a personal experience story for this but I've heard from a few ladies that they had a full period & than after found out they were pregnant when they had that period

But does it look like a typical period? I'm wondering this also. Like can u have what u assume is ur normal period but really it isn't?! I've heard u can bleed as if it's period due to being so early on in pregnancy...
