My sister doesn't know that my husband and I are TTC. We decided not to tell our families that were trying because we didn't want to have to tell them every time we talk that it hasn't happened yet.

She suffers from bipolar disorder and depression. When she's on her meds she's fine, but every few months or so she stops taking them and she just gets unbearable.

Well, she stopped taking them a while back. I told her about a week ago (probably not in the nicest way) that she was driving me crazy with her behavior and I needed her to stop calling me when she was acting that way.

So, yesterday she calls me and tells me she called to have her prescription filled again and I told her that's great. She and I have a really great relationship when she's stable and we both work to maintain that.

She then went on to tell me that the reason she stopped taking them was because she was TTC #2, but that they had decided to stop after she'd had 4 miscarriages.

Now, before you think I'm a terrible person and start to sympathize with her, this is 100% BS. For anyone not aware, compulsive lying is a common trait of bipolar disorder. There is absolutely NO chance that there is any truth to this. First and foremost her husband had a vasectomy after their first was born. I talk to my sister every single day and when she actually WAS trying I heard every graphic detail and even went with her when she had to have an ectopic pregnancy aborted. She is absolutely incapable of keeping a secret big or small. So, if they'd decided to try a reversal and begin TTC, she'd have told me.

I know she didn't mean to hurt me with her lie, and I know that she can't control it. But I just can't stand the idea of talking to her right now. My husband and I have an appointment with a fertility specialist in a week and I'm scared to death about it.

I'm just so fed up with her right now, I don't know what to do!

Thoughts? What can be done to alleviate this problem?
