Should girls be taught about fertility awareness (mucus, cervix, etc) in high school biology class?

I didn't learn anything about my cervix or cervical mucus until I started ttc. I was 28... I think I would have benefitted from knowing that stuff when I was developing because I thought that I was a freak because of vaginal discharge and its perfectly normal. I will be teaching my future daughter about that stuff probably when she is 15-16 no matter how embarrassing I think women should know about their bodies.

Not sure how to go about it. Not really something that teenage boys would tolerate well. Maybe as an elective that is strongly encouraged.

I know it will bring up issues legally, but I honestly wish they would!! My mom taught me young since she started young, but at 9 I didn't want to hear it and forgot it by time I had to deal with it at 12. I have always felt awkward asking her, but I hate that at 17 I still don't understand it myself. They taught us freshmen year girls and boys is seperate health classes, but the reproductive unit was the exact same material about STDs and how sperm fertilizes the eggs and all that. The only differences were girls were told "his sperm" and "your egg" and the boys "your sperm" and "her egg". If you're sperating the classes, teach about each gender's specific issues and care for their reproductive health.

Sex ed in Catholic School didn't learn much, but got a really good book from my mum, it was a little outdated but it explained pretty much everything but nothing on cm never really thought about discharge until I got my first yeast infection which freaked me out, thought I had an STD

I think no not whatsoever. I am 17 and I was in private school when we should have had "the talk" so I never got one. And I think that really saved me at times. I grew closer to my older sister and if I had any questions she would just answer bcz my mother was a don't talk about it and it won't happen kind of woman and that worked for a long time in all honesty but then I got older. I lost my virginity 4 months before I turned 17 with a man I loved and am still with. I think my moms best teaching was not about the details but make sure it was somone I could trust. Since she had been through many divorces I coul see that. I strongly think the leading reason why "kids" are having sex soo early is Becuase we are making them so aware that it's out there .. Someone will think this is stupid but I've lived it. As soon as my sister explained it and we started talking that's when I got my first bf (14 yrs old) and got my first kiss bcz I thought I was supposed to. That's just my opinion don't tell them too soon this is a bad idea tell them jr or senior year when it really counts
