What's a good birth control?

Me and my boyfriend have been together 12yrs and have been using condoms half of our relationship 
Any advice would be great

Mirena. 
It's a IUD incertion. Very safe, and has almost no side effects. It's good for 5 years. 
The only thing I've noticed is my junk smelling a little funky, but no food cravings, weight gain, acne...etc that can go with taking a pill. (And you don't have to remember to take a pill) 
Helps reduce period cramping, and most people lose their periods all together.

Downside, it hurts like a beach when it gets put in.

I have Nexplanon, formerly called Implanon.  It's an implant in your arm that lasts for 3 years. It is a small tube inbetween your skin and muscle and emits the right amount of hormones you need a day. It helped regulate my period. I forget it's there most of the time. Only downside is that I've had some weight gain, but that's normal with most birth controls. This is my second time having it and I love it!

Estrogen based BC is best to avoid if you have a history of stroke or blood clots in your family. I'm on yaz which is estrogen based. A lot of people don't like it. I love it.
