Are vivid nightmares common in pregnancy?

I'm 19 weeks pregnant and I keep having the most vivid dreams, most of which are nightmares. I wake up exhausted and it's getting discouraging.  Is this typical of pregnancy? Should I see someone about it? It hasn't been this bad since I had PTSD over 5 years ago.

With my first daughter I used to dream I was giving birth and the baby always turned out a teddy with eyes missing or an ear. This time I havnt dreamed as much and no where near as vivid but I do have a lot of sex dreams that are erm quite Clear

Its because your rem cycle shortens when youre pregnant, you wake more frequently and remember your deeams more vividly for better or worse.

My cervix was abormally low for the last few weeks and going up and coming back down and I've been a bit nervous about it.. The other night hubby and I watched the Imitation Game in theatres pretty late at night.. and when I went to bed I dreamt all this wacky stuff like that my cervix was so low it was COMING OUT and I was freaking out and then that my husband was slowly poisoning me with cyanide.. Then that I had chicken fingers in the oven and they were burning and I couldn't get them out or kept forgetting.. So yes weird dreams are normal...I've had a ton of weird ones like that. Lol

I have the same thing. Very vivid and mostly nightmares. Also 19wks.

I would definitely ask your OB or Midwife about it since you have PTSD. It could be creeping back up on you. My depression came back and I just went back on anti depressants after being off for almost exactly 5 years!
