Vitamin D deficiency causing infertility??

Question

Has anyone ever heard of this before? I was just told my by doc that I am deficient in vitamin D and someone just said it caused her to have miscarriages...

Anyone have any insight on this?

Wow I am SO glad I saw this post randomly. We have been trying for a year and seeing a fertility specialist since May last year. Lots of shots/clomid and nothing. My family dr discovered a vitamin D deficiency back in Dec. which he wrote a prescription for. We just had a IUI cycle this month and I take a blood pregnancy test Friday! So hopeful especially now that I've seen this post. Thank you both for sharing! God bless you both.

I read a little in to it after my doctor told me the same thing and did find a few articles that said a deficiency can slow things down. I didn't see anything about miscarriages, but I wasn't looking. After 17 months of trying I got pregnant the same month I started taking vitamin D.

I have done research in my PhD program on vitamin D deficiency.  It literally is the cause of many terminal illness and side effects.  Please consider doing your research on vitamin D therapy and also calcium.  I take 50k unit weekly because my deficiency was so severe it began to affect my muscles,joints and ability to walk.

My vitamin D was is at 12. Which is very low. I take 5,000 units a day trying to get it up but my body doesn't seem to absorb it right for some reason. If I don't get pregnant this month we have to go to a specialist and I plan to bring this up.

Yes this can can hold u up from becoming pregnant I went through this with my last two pregnancies
