Definitely. I don't fear calling myself one either. A boy who enjoys theater is gay or queer, as he is associated with femininity. "Pussy" is one of the biggest insults our society has, even though a vagina could totally kick your ass. Comparing anyone to anything female (ex: You fight/throw/whine like a GIRL) is a huge insult. I regularly hear people say things like    "Be a man" to little boys. We get paid less. We're prized more for our looks than our talents, abilities, and values. We're commonly referred to as bitches. We're catcalled and harassed and groped in the street and expected to think it's a compliment. You're damned right I'm a feminist!

If anyone starts in with the "I don't like labels" bs - seriously? You are more worried about having the same word applied to you as is applied to women you disagree with on some political issues than you are that women don't get equal pay, equal health care, and representation in government? Reexamine your priorities.

I just think everyone should just be able to do what they want.

A woman should feel be able to have a career if she wants to or she should be able to be a stay-at-home mum/housewife etc.

The same way a guy could choose a career or to be a stay-at-home dad if that's what he would like.

I answered no but want to clarify.  I am a stay at home mom, i will probably never work outside the home again, only if i get bored.  For the most part hubby controls all the money, and big money decisions.  I am ok with all of this, happy even with the arrangement.  All this means i dont fit the definition of a feminist.  However, i once had a professor who told us her definition of a feminist, and i want to share it.  She said that a feminist was not nessisarily a woman with a high power job who wont let a man get the door for her.  She said a feminist is a woman who does what she wants to do whether that is working full time or staying home and raising kids.  As long as she is doing what she wants(within reason), not what her man, or her mom, or the lady down the street, wants.  So by that definition i am a feminist.
