What are your thoughts on having a first trimester screening (for Down Syndrome and Trisomy 18)? It will be a blood test and an ultrasound. I'm seriously debating having it done. I was given the option to do it because I'm 35 years old. I'm not sure I see the benefit of doing it since it is just a percentage of risk of birth defects. Please help! What are your thoughts for or against the screening. Thanks!
