Is it easier to find jobs having both masters childhood ed and special Ed?

I am in childhood ed now and people kept telling me that having a special ed degree can help you get a job easier. NYC.

Yeah. You might find a job easier but you might have to take a special Ed co teaching position rather than the gen Ed teaching position.

With the reconfiguration of special Ed laws in NYC there are many many more integrated coteaching (ICT) than before. They have made an effort to put more special Ed students into gen Ed classrooms rather than 12:1 settings. Having experience with SPEd will definitely give you an advantage.

Btw. I teach 6th grade in NYC. I grab an ICT class with an amazing co teacher. My masters program made me take some classes in SPEd but I am not SPEd certified. Good luck!

I am a teachers aid and work in an inclusion class but the lady I work with told me being double certified is the way to go

I mean I guess it depends more on where u live around here u can easily get a job as a teachers aid or something.
